HOW MUCH DOes a consultation COST?
I believe that everyone deserves a chance to speak to the therapist prior to starting sessions so that they are confident and comfortable to get started. The initial 15-minute consultation is free. Subsequent sessions will be billed according to the type and length of session.
Individual sessions are 50 minutes in length at $300 per session, and couples sessions are typically 60-90 minutes in length at $450 per session.

I also offer “intensive” sessions that are longer in length (and can be scheduled on weekdays and weekends) for individuals and couples who are looking to gain clarity about a particularly challenging situation, but find it difficult to attend therapy on a regular basis or who may not be ready to commit to traditional weekly therapy sessions. WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT THE FIRST SESSION?
Our first session (whether it takes place in-office or online) is about getting to know each another. We will discuss what your concerns might be and what you would like to see happen in your life or your relationship. You’ll learn about my counseling style, practice policies, and my assessment of your concerns. My objective is to gather information about you, help you identify what you would like to see happen, and collaborate to create a plan to work towards that.
video conferencing or concierge counseling might work better for my schedule. HOW DOES it work?
Video conferencing is therapy that occurs between a licensed therapist and a client online rather than at a physical location. Your privacy and confidentiality are of the utmost importance, so great measures have been taken to protect them through HIPAA-compliant website Doxy.me. There is no need to download additional software or plugins, and clients don’t need to create an account or login to meet with me. A single URL that I provide from Doxy.me is all that is needed for the client to start a session with me. There are no permanent videos or voice recording kept of our online sessions. End-to-end encryption is always used and identifying information is never recorded by Doxy.me.
Concierge therapy is where we meet for our sessions at your home or office (concierge therapy will incur additional fees).
It is important that clients identify a quiet, comfortable, and private room for either video conferencing or concierge therapy. For online therapy, that room would need to be equipped with a computer that has a camera/microphone capabilities and internet access. For each online session, I will send the client a link, and it is as simple as using Skype or Facebook.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
I focus on shorter-term therapies designed to help my clients decide what they would like to see happen in their lives. Every client is different, but most of my clients work with me on a weekly (or every other week) basis for about 4 - 8 sessions and then may feel it necessary to check in periodically for a “tune-up”. Or they may decide to check-in for sessions when a new life stressor arises and the client feels it would be valuable for us to collaborate again. As I mentioned before, every client is different. While most clients work with me for the short term and then check-in occasionally, other clients find it valuable to work together on a continuous basis for support and to stay on track with their progress.

HOW DO YOU BILL FOR SESSIONS? WILL YOUR NAME SHOW UP ON MY CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD STATEMENT?
Payment is made at the start of each session, and if you choose to pay electronically you will be sent an invoice via text from Ivy Pay. Follow the link and enter your billing information to pay online. Charges will be appear as "Ivy Labs, Inc". Rest assured, Ivy Pay is designed to be HIPAA-secure and makes sure client relationship is never revealed.
WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICIES?
Payment is made prior to the start of each session. Cancellations of your scheduled session may be made up until 5pm the day before your session. Cancellations not made by 5pm the day prior to the scheduled appointment will be invoiced.
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
I do not participate in any insurance panels (payment is expected at time of session), but I will assist you with any forms you may want to submit to your insurance company.
I DON’T LIVE IN NEW YORK or Arizona. CAN WE STILL WORK TOGETHER online?
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in New York and Arizona and am able to work with any individuals in my private practice as long as they live or work in those states. But if you don’t live or work in New York, we can schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to figure out whether your state or country permits online counseling with a provider that lives outside of your area. If not, I’m happy to help you identify alternative options.
